Be prepared for stunning views in a unique format: from Arctic ArcThese new additions to the popular series of photo books will lead you to destinations so wild and remote that only few people manage — or care — to visit them.
Pictures you are about to discover are very personal glimpses from my many travels into the vast and rapidly vanishing realm of polar regions.
It is quite possible that these places as we know them will disappear from our reality within one generation's lifespan. If you are not able to pay a visit to them on your own while they are still there, be sure to take a glance into one of these gorgeous photo books!
“Let somebody else rest by southern sea
Enjoying the paradise land,
It's northerly here, and fall of this year
I chose to be my girl-friend.”
Anna Akhmatova
The books on this page are the most extensive yet in the series. Each one contains 48 selected panoramic pictures.
As you are used to from my other photo books, every photograph here is seamlessly printed over the entire double-page spread taking advantage of the masterful lay-flat binding, so you can enjoy each image in full without any obstructions.
The three books in the rangeThe inner pages are made of true, heavy matte photographic paper. It is able of reproducing fine details and a great tonal range with both colour and black-and-white pictures. Its smooth coating also averts distracting reflections and holds fingerprints at bay.
As it's always the case, the hard cover wrapped up in signature eggshell fabric is very pleasing to touch.
All books share the same understated layout making them precious entries in a highly collectible series.
Arctic Arc combines Iceland and Greenland pictures from the eponymous series as well as those from North Atlantic, Labrador, Northern Light, Green Land and White Space.
Northern Light unites pictures from Norway, Svalbard and Canadian Arctic published in Norway, North Atlantic, Midsummer, Labrador, Equinox, East by Northwest, Northern Light, In Transit and True North.
South is made up of pictures from Falklands, South Georgia, South Shetlands and Antarctica.
Quite simple: impeccableThis is easy!
Please note: Due to its dimensions, the photographs need to be cropped on top and/or bottom to be presented edge-to-edge in this format. Where this cropping would compromise the composition of the picture, the latter is shown with margins on one or both sides.
The small format is very handy but no less impressive at two-thirds the size.
The middle choice from the manufacturer's Professional Line is slightly larger than A4 and handmade from specially selected materials.
Refer to the chart below for a comparison of three format options.
